Poofora Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-10-29
Poofora is published by Poofora, Georgia ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Poofora, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms are the end user licence agreement for Poofora. They are an agreement between you and us only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are responsible for Poofora and its content.
Licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Poofora on Apple devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms allow, including use through Family Sharing where Apple permits it. You may not copy, modify, rent, resell, sublicense or reverse engineer the app, or remove notices from it, except where the law allows it. We keep all rights in Poofora and its name that these terms do not expressly give to you.
What Poofora does
Poofora helps you find duplicate photos, similar shots, screenshots, large videos and duplicate contacts on your device. It can compress videos, save still photos from Live Photos and merge contacts. Suggestions, such as the "Best" photo, are only suggestions. Detection is automatic and can be wrong. You decide what to delete or merge.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for your photos, videos and contacts. Review every item before you confirm. Keep your own backups of anything important. You use Poofora at your own risk. Poofora works on your photo library, your contacts and your device storage, and you decide what is deleted, merged, compressed or converted.
- Deleted photos and videos go to Recently Deleted. You can recover them there for up to 30 days. After that they are gone. If you use iCloud Photos, a deletion is also synced to your other devices.
- When you compress a video or convert a Live Photo, Poofora saves a new copy. The original is only deleted after you review it and confirm.
- A contact merge is permanent. Before it, Poofora saves a .vcf backup file in its Documents folder, which you can see in the Files app. The file is included in the backups of your iPhone and is never uploaded by Poofora. Apart from that file, Poofora cannot undo a merge. Poofora does not delete backups automatically. You can delete them yourself in the Files app.
Free plan
The free plan lets you scan the last 12 months of your library, browse and review the results, and use most tools. It includes 100 welcome deletions, one time, and after that 15 free deletions every day. Unused deletions do not carry over to the next day. Only items that really leave your library count. Deletions that you make while you have Poofora Premium do not use up the allowance. The number that is left is shown in Poofora → Settings.
Some features are part of Poofora Premium and are marked as Premium in the app, for example scanning photos older than the last 12 months, searching the text in your screenshots, converting or compressing several items at once, and the background refresh. Space Rescue is free. Which features are free and which are Premium can change, as described under "Changes to Poofora and these terms".
The size of the allowance is an experiment value. It may change in a future version. A change does not give a new allowance to people who have already used it, and deletions that you made in an earlier version count too, so existing users may have fewer free deletions left, or none. Poofora has no account and no server. The allowance is kept on your device, and we cannot promise how it behaves if you reinstall the app or change your iPhone.
Poofora Premium
Poofora Premium removes the limit on deletions and unlocks the other Premium features that the app shows. You can get it in four ways.
- Weekly Premium. This is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews every week.
- Yearly Premium. This is an auto-renewing subscription. It renews every year.
- Family Premium. This is an auto-renewing yearly subscription. It can be shared through Apple Family Sharing with up to six members of your family group, if your Family Sharing settings allow it. Family Sharing applies only to Family Premium. It does not apply to Weekly Premium, Yearly Premium or Lifetime Premium. Access that is shared through Family Sharing ends when the subscription ends or when Apple stops sharing it with you.
- Lifetime Premium. This is a one-time purchase (a non-consumable in-app purchase). It does not renew. "Lifetime" means for as long as we offer and support Poofora Premium on the App Store, not for your lifetime or ours. It covers the Premium features of Poofora as they are from time to time. It does not include other apps or separate products that we may release in the future.
The price and the billing period of each product are shown in the App Store purchase screen, in your local currency, before you buy. Prices can differ by country. Poofora Premium subscriptions currently have no free trial. If an introductory offer is ever available, it is shown on the purchase screen before you buy. You are eligible only if you have not used an introductory offer for this subscription group before, and Apple decides this.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. If you ever start an introductory offer with a free period, nothing is charged during it, and unused free time is lost when you buy a subscription.
A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
If we change the price of a subscription, Apple tells you and, where the law or Apple requires it, asks for your agreement before the new price applies to you. If you do not agree, the subscription ends at the end of the current period. If a renewal payment fails, Apple may keep Premium on for a grace period while it tries again. If the payment is not made, Premium ends.
You can restore a past purchase in the app with Restore Purchases. Poofora checks your purchases with Apple, and Premium can stop if Apple reports that a subscription ended, was refunded or could not be renewed.
Refunds and withdrawal
Purchases of Poofora Premium are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We cannot see your payment details, and we cannot issue refunds or reverse charges ourselves. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support, and sign in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Apple decides each request under its own policies. We do not give refunds for purchases made through Apple, except where the law requires us to. If Apple refunds a purchase, or tells us that it was reversed, your access to Premium for that purchase ends.
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, Poofora Premium is digital content and a digital service that starts immediately when you buy. Under Apple's terms for the App Store and as far as the law allows, you ask for it to start immediately, and you may lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once it has started. This does not affect your legal rights if Poofora is defective or is not as described, or any refund right that Apple gives you.
Changes to Poofora and these terms
We may change, add or remove features, change which features are free and which are Premium, change the size of the free allowance, and update Poofora for new versions of iOS, for security or for the law. We will not remove, during the period you have already paid for, the main features of the plan you bought, unless the law, Apple or a technical reason requires it. If a change makes your Premium plan materially worse, you can cancel your subscription as described above.
We may change these terms. The new version will have a new effective date. For a material change we will say so in the app or on this page. If you keep using Poofora after a change, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, stop using Poofora and cancel your subscription.
Ending your use
You can stop using Poofora at any time by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. We may end your licence if you seriously break these terms, or if the law or Apple requires it. We may stop offering or supporting Poofora or Poofora Premium. Where we can, we will give notice in the app or on poofora.com at least 90 days before we stop selling or supporting it. Refunds for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple, as described above.
Maintenance and support
We alone are responsible for support and maintenance of Poofora. Apple has no obligation to give any. Contact us at support@poofora.com.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, Poofora is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that Poofora will find every duplicate or work without errors. If Poofora fails to meet a warranty that the law does not allow to be excluded, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if there was one. Apple has no other warranty obligation for Poofora.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Poofora is not liable for lost photos, videos, contacts or data, including items that you chose to delete or merge after reviewing them and confirming, for damage to or failure of your device, its battery, storage, software or other apps (including heat, battery drain, slowdowns or data corruption that may come with heavy use of the photo library or with iOS updates), for suggestions that turn out to be wrong, or for lost profit or indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Poofora in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, for example for fraud, intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury. Mandatory rights of consumers, such as the statutory rights for defective digital content in the European Union and under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, are not affected.
Claims and third parties
We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claim by you or by a third party about Poofora or your use of it. This includes product liability claims, claims that Poofora does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws. If a third party claims that Poofora infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending and settling the claim. You must follow the terms of any third-party agreement that applies when you use Poofora, for example your mobile data plan.
Legal compliance
You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US government embargo or that the US government has named a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. When you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Georgia (the country), without its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Tbilisi, Georgia have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you are a consumer, your mandatory consumer rights in your country are not affected, and you keep any right that the law of your country gives you to bring and to defend proceedings in the courts of the place where you live.
